Shape of State:-Elongated: It is quite long along the East Coast of South America. This can make it difficult for people to communicate when they live in the Northern or Southern portion of Argentina. It is also more expensive to travel since its over far distances.
-Fragmented: Tierra del Fuego is a province that is separated by water and land on the Southern tip of Argentina and this makes it harder for the people in the province to get to and communicate with the mainland. -Prorupted: There are small proruptions off the East coast that could make communication difficult. They look small, but the size of Argentina is minimized greatly in maps making the proruptions look way smaller than they really are. -All three of these characteristics make reaching the capital harder slowing down economy and politics. |
Boundaries of State:-Argentina is mostly shaped based off of physical features.
-Although physical features are the primal base of Argentina, it is somewhat shaped based off of the cultural landscape because of the indigenous people. -Some of the physical features include: *The Andes Mountains which separates Chile and Argentina all along the West Coast of Argentina. *The Atlantic Ocean which clearly shapes the East Coast of Argentina because it is located on the East Coast of South America. *The Uruguay and Pilcomayo River separates Argentina from surrounding countries including Uruguay, Brazil, Paraguay, and Bolivia. -The indigenous people helped the borders be created after the spanish colony break away. |
Colonies/Offshore Territories:
-Argentina was once a spanish colony.
-Argentina colonized a lot in the 19th century, but no longer has an actual colony even though they claim to have some.
-An example would be that they say they have colonized some of the Arctic and they handle it in a "colonial-like manner".
-They also claim the Falkland Islands as one of their still existing colonies even though it is under British rule.
-There have been disputes over this territory for 180 years.
